Tripped & Falling
'Ashes and Ember' single

Think of hotbeds of
musical talent and what
have you got?
Manchester, Liverpool,
New York could all be
reasonably put forward
but there’s a new name
to add to that list.
Trinidad & Tobago!
Previously only known
for some nice weather
and a load of
footballers that had in
all likelihood never
even visited, they now
have a rock band to be
proud of- Tripped &
Falling.
These guys really can
play to. With every
instrument
simultaneously caressed
and bludgeoned they
wring noises from the
guitars especially that
leave their
contemporaries (A
Perfect Circle, Thrice,
Thursday) in the shade
of a pretty sizeable
palm tree.
‘Bleed Victoria’ shows a
softer side that verges
on emotional, as opposed
to emo, without ever
straying into that
horrendous Staind/
Nickelback category of
aural agony. Apparently
their Caribbean
background creeps into
their live shows too. I
have no idea how but
it’d be well worth
catching them live to
find out.
