The Drain Pipes
Moolah Rouge Sessions 07

The Drain Pipes get their name from their tight performances. Cheesy puns aside this Manchester 4-piece play with passion and even on record you can tell they’d be a hyperactive ball of energy live.

Proud of their heritage ‘House On The Corner’ takes humorous shots at wannabes and bands pretending to be American. The Drain Pipes have a youthful anger and aggression that allows lead singer Shaun Gilroy to spit out words like certain consonants offend him. Although he takes on the style of many of the greatest northern vocalists (Gallagher, Ryder, Turner) at times the ‘punk’ snarl seems forced. Once he finds his own voice he’ll be a hugely charismatic stage presence.

Bad name maybe, but they’ve definitely the potential to be a good band.
