This promo CD comes in a bright yellow sleeve which is rather fitting as it’s a slice of sunshine cut and moulded into musical form. With quirky guitars, handclaps and Ooh Ooh’s it begs the question how something this cheery sounding emerges from the rain magnet of Manchester.

‘Cold Hearted Business’ invokes the kind of joy that only comes from losing your virginity, or a particularly good Christmas morning. However the singer, Dylan, does mention a “two-time lover, she make you suffer” which makes me think I might have got this all badly wrong. If this really is a cunningly disguised tale of heartbreak then I’m far too busy ‘Ooh Ooh Oohing’ to take any notice. Who’s with me?
