Born in Las Vegas
Panic!At The Disco
became the first band to
be signed to Fall Out
Boys Pete Wentz’s,
Decaydance. The debut
album A Fever You Can’t
Sweat Out is a truly
unique master peace,
especially for first
timers. The boys use
rock and dance combined,
to create high energy
melodies with an album
split between
synthesizers and drum
machines to a
Vaudevillian piano and
accordion. The high
tempo tracks blast from
one track to the next at
a speed that leaves you
breathless. The lyrics
are catchy, although
sometimes do hold a bit
too much repetition.
However, saying that
this is again the debut
so the band does have
plenty of room to move
and grow. The band used
influences from the
likes of Third Eye
Blind, Counting Crows to
help them construct,
song structure,
narrative lyrics, though
they are not an
obviously influenced
band. Tracks like The
Only Difference Between
Martyrdom And Suicide Is
Press Coverage, and But
It’s Better If You Do
contains catchy quick
starting intros which
throw you straight into
the song from the off.
The transition from song
to song, with their
afore mentioned quick
starts, don’t give you
much time to sit down,
each track picks you up
and chucks you about not
letting you rest until
the very last beat.
Panic! recently toured
over our side of the
seas and apparently they
were ace!!
This album, although
full of unnecessarily
lengthy titled tracks,
is a gold mine, a sure
thing. Enjoy.
