If you’re sitting
there thinking “you know
what we really need
right now? A good bit of
80’s soft rock, that’d
really spice up the
music industry" Well
you’ll be a very happy
bunny. UK Southern Rock
Band Medicine Hat are
set to release their
third album and it’s a
right old mix of 80’s
power ballads and, um,
more 80’s powers
ballads! Including the
single ‘Forever Survive’
it’s a bit difficult to
tell whether this album
is actually supposed to
be taken seriously. If
it’s not then it’s
bloody good fun! If it
is then, well, it
doesn’t work. The
publicity peeps say the
bands style is fuelled
by "a furious passion
for ‘Outlaw country’ and
Native America" but it
kind of sounds like a
parody of that. Not a
bad album as long as you
don’ take it too
seriously, avoid it if
you weren’t a big fan of
the era of big ballads
and bigger hair!
