The Debut album from Liverpool born singer Candie Payne sees her delivering a delightful 60’s infused pop album. Candie is no new beginner to the music business as she has previously fronted the indie group and is also related to members of both of The Strands and The Zutons she certainly has a musical pedigree.

The album begins with the first single off the album ‘I wish I could have loved you more’ which sounds like a combination of Sandie Shaw and Portishead and whilst it has a retro feel to it is still manages to sound progressive.

Other standout tracks on the album include ‘Take me’ with its funky brass section and groovy beat and ‘All I need to hear’ which sounds like it could have been recorded originally by Dusty Springfield and the soulful ‘Seasons Change’.

There is a beautiful melancholy that runs through this album and enough ethereal eeriness to keep any listener happy. In a world where pop music is dominated by belly dancing and skinny little girls with there vocal gymnastics this album stands up as a piece of classy, intelligent and forward thinking pop music.
